The wooden floors were reclaimed from boat docks in San Francisco. The main living room features a wood-burning all-masonry Rumford fireplace, a design developed by Sir Benj. Thompson, Count Rumford to better project heat into large living areas. The exterior railing is made with copper piping and spruce beams. The stone flooring in the kitchen and entry foyer is Italian travertine. The doors to the study are antique likely from Morocco. The heating system is a top-grade in-floor hydronic heating system by the German firm, Viesman. There is floor heating in the garage with a drain and there is heat under the homes front steps and garage apron. The doors on the main level permit wheelchair passage.
