Highlands Ranch Neighborhood Information

Southern Californians hold a particular affinity for Highlands Ranch homes-and for good reason. The Mission Viejo Company purchased much of what is Highlands Ranch in 1978, created a master-planned community, and by 1981, Highlands Ranch welcomed its first residents. Located 12 miles south of Denver in Northern Douglas County, Highlands Ranch resembles Californian cities with similar street layouts, architecture and family-driven activities.

Highlands Ranch specifically caters to families, including outdoor and indoor leisure activities and community conveniences. With 22 parks, 70+ miles of trails, and 2,000 acres of open space, 85% of area homes sit within a quarter mile of a park, open space area or trail. Redstone Recreation Park, with its numerous sports fields, tennis courts, and skateboarding park, offers additional outdoor fun. Highlands Ranch also has four indoor recreation centers with state-of-the-art exercise equipment and other upscale amenities.

Continuing to grow, Highlands Ranch recently opened its "Town Center", which includes a Tattered Cover Bookstore and boutique shops and restaurants such as Lands Down Arms and the Old Blinking Light. Concerts and festivities are often held in the adjacent Civic Green Park. And, the light rail station at Littleton's Mineral Station is easily accessible via a short RTD bus ride from Town Center.

Real Estate Snapshot

Highlands Ranch homes vary from affordable tract homes in the low $200,000 range to luxury custom homes up to several million dollars. Condos, townhomes and patio homes are also readily available.
