Ballpark Neighborhood Information

The Ballpark Historic District is situated to the north of Lower Downtown (LoDo) and Denver’s Central Business District, making it the perfect choice for those who prefer living close to play and work. The southernmost area of the neighborhood is home to Coors Field, built in 1995 specifically for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. North Larimer Street is a major commercial thoroughfare in Ballpark and provides an eclectic mix of brewpubs, restaurants, pawnshops, jazz clubs, galleries and small businesses.

Architectural styles in Ballpark are fully rooted in Denver’s early history. Railway cars brought both goods and a diverse group of immigrants to what is now Ballpark, hence providing a bustling nucleus of activity to the growing area. Two to three story brick buildings and warehouses emerged for the newly borne light industrial hub. Today, many of these warehouses have been converted into condominiums, flats and lofts that incorporate the original design elements of exposed brick, beams and pipes. New construction and apartments are also mixed in with the condo conversions, further adding to an upscale urban industrial feel, as well as incorporating a wide range of housing price points.

The Ballpark neighborhood takes great pride in its community. One day a month, starting in April and ending in October, it hosts the amazing “Ballpark Market”. This open-air marketplace offers everything from fresh produce to one of kind treasures to vintage furnishings. This event is enjoyed by locals and neighboring suburbanites alike.
