Golden Triangle

The Golden Triangle/Civic Center Park region is due south of Denver’s Central Business District and still considered to be “downtown”. Loose boundaries include Colfax Avenue to the north, Speer Boulevard to the South and Broadway to the East, hence creating the triangle. The Golden Triangle Neighborhood Association extends the boundaries one block east to Lincoln Street which incorporates most of the institutions sprinkled throughout Civic Center Park.

Continuous transformation has changed the landscape of the Golden Triangle since its origination in Denver in the early 1900’s. Original architectural styles included Victorians and Bungalows, mostly to be scraped and replaced after World War II with parking lots, car dealerships and supply stores. The 1990’s ushered in a new era for the neighborhood with the completion of the Central Library. Art galleries, restaurants, and other hip boutiques followed as they increasingly revamped the old supply stores and dealerships, shaping a whole new upscale feel to the Golden Triangle.
